Dear Festival Friends,

thank you for all your questions about this year festival’s outlooks. We receive a lot of those recently and we treat them as a good sign – as an expression of your trust and kindness. As we all know, current situation in the country – both social and economic – changes on daily basis and it is very difficult to make any assumptions about the future.

However, we very much hope that in the next few months – with God’s and man’s help – the epidemic will be overcomed and its effects will not be as severe as many of us are afraid these days. At the same time, we are aware of the fact that most likely, this year we will not be able to implement the full program planned last autumn by the festival’s director, Marius Peterson. This program, assuming the participation of foreign artists, several weeks of international cooperation on the new repertoire, as well as other forms of activity (workshops, discussions, etc.), requires preparations, most of which are now impossible to carry out. We hope that we will be able to come back to these inspiring ideas in more peaceful times.

We assure you that we make every effort to ensure that the festival in 2020 can take place. As long as the world exists and the situation makes it feasible – we cannot imagine that there would be no festival. Even if we would be forced to change the program we originally planned, abandon some elements, or shorten the usual duration, we want to continue the task entrusted to us. We know that when the immediate health threat passes, and you can return to daily activities, a space for beauty, meetings, liturgy and dance – which we try to create in Jarosław every year at the end of August – may be particularly needed.

As events unfold, we will provide you with further details. Please understand that some of them may appear later than usual.

In uncertain times we will also be especially grateful for any form of support. In the first place, the spiritual ones, that require no more than good will: we all know that good thought, advice or prayer can add a lot of strength in everyday activities.

If you would like to support this year’s festival also financially, please contact us. Due to organizational difficulties affecting many institutions because of the epidemic, the festival’s budget for this year has become very uncertain – and program issues also depend on its amount.
